American Spinning Works is an initiative to bring premium cotton spinning back to the United States. America grows the world's finest Pima cotton but exports roughly 87% of it unspun, surrendering the most valuable step in the supply chain. Its flagship campaign, Operation Chromite, proposes a ring-spinning hub in Yuma, Arizona — a distressed community on premium freight corridors inside Foreign Trade Zone #219 — to recapture an estimated $120M+ in value and 400+ jobs per mill, shortening a 2,900-mile round trip into a short domestic loop.
